 Dear Parents 


Phys Ed
Students have been moving and grooving in our dance unit! We've been learning choreographed dances such as Waka Waka and Gangnam Style while exploring beat and rhythm. It's been a great way to combine fitness with creativity and musicality!

Science
In Science, we’ve been investigating magnets. This week, students explored the north and south poles of magnets and conducted experiments to test the strength of different magnets. They loved using hands-on materials and sharing their predictions and results.

Writing
In Writing, we've focused on sentence variety. Students are learning how to add interest to their writing by starting sentences with adverbs and experimenting with different sentence structures. It’s exciting to see their writing skills grow!

Artist in Residence
We had a special visit from our artist-in-residence this week. Students created unique wire sculptures, using their imaginations and fine motor skills to shape their creations. The results were fantastic!

Upcoming Events & Reminders
🟢 Earth Day Assembly – April 22:
Our Grade 3/4 Earth Day sharing assembly will take place on Tuesday, April 22. Grade 4 families are warmly invited to attend the afternoon performance at 1:30 pm. We hope to see you there!

🚌 Field Trip – Jane Goodall Presentation:
Next week, we are thrilled to be going on a field trip to hear Jane Goodall speak! This is a wonderful opportunity for students to be inspired by her conservation work and message of hope for our planet.

❌ No School – Friday, April 18:
Please note that there will be no school next Friday.

 Dear Parents: 🌎 Earth Day Assembly On Tuesday, April 22, we celebrated Earth Day with a school-wide assembly. The students did a wonderful job participating and showing their commitment to taking care of our planet. Dec 6-13

 Dear Families,  Design Process Invention: Our students engaged in a fantastic project where they created inventions to solve winter problems. They collaborated, drew designs, assembled their products, and proudly shared their finished creations with the Grade 1 class. Math Learning: In math, students began learning about angles! They explored acute, obtuse, and right angles, which sparked their curiosity and creativity. Social Studies: This week, we enjoyed hearing various oral stories, including practicing the tale of "Napi and the Dog." This activity encouraged storytelling skills and cultural appreciation. Physical Education: Floor hockey brought a lot of fun and teamwork to our physical education classes, allowing students to develop their skills while enjoying friendly competition. Dear Parents/Guardians, This month in math, we are beginning an exciting new unit on fractions ! Fractions are an important concept that helps students understand parts of a whole, parts of a set, and the way numbers can be divided and shared. Here’s a quick overview of what we are learning in class and how you can support your child at home. What Are Fractions? A fraction represents a part of a whole or a part of a group. It is written with two numbers separated by a line, such as 1/2 or 3/4 . Parts of a Fraction Numerator: The top number in a fraction, which tells us how many parts we have.
