 Dear Parents:

🌎 Earth Day Assembly
On Tuesday, April 22, we celebrated Earth Day with a school-wide assembly. The students did a wonderful job participating and showing their commitment to taking care of our planet. It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and respect they brought to this important event.

✉️ Writing – Letters to Mother Earth
In writing, students wrote heartfelt letters to Mother Earth. They practiced organizing their ideas into clear paragraphs and offered thoughtful action ideas on how we can all help take care of our environment. Their creativity and care for the planet really shone through!

➗ Math – Fractions Galore!
This week, we continued exploring fractions—specifically equivalent fractions, improper fractions, and mixed numbers. The highlight was a game called Scoot, which got everyone moving and thinking as they practiced their fraction skills. Next week, we’ll be diving into the concept of the lowest common denominator.

πŸ—Ί️ Social Studies – Treaty 7 Comic Strips
Our class is continuing work on comic strips that show either an Indigenous or Government perspective on Treaty 7. Students are doing a great job using visuals and text to demonstrate understanding and empathy for different points of view.

🏸 Phys Ed – Racquet Skills
In Phys Ed, we kicked off our racquet unit! Students have been working on their hand-eye coordination and practicing the "ready position." They are having lots of fun while building foundational skills.
