September 23-27
Dear Parents,
This week we discussed orange shirt day and the term 'Truth and Reconcilliation'. Students learned about Phyllis Webstad and the importance of her message. We shared our commitment to Truth and Reconcilliation and read many picture books about residential schools. We went on a community walk on Wednesday to further celebrate land-based learning.
In science we are beginning our unit on Waste and waste management. We will look at the positive and negative ways to deal with waste management. This will prepare us for our fieldtrip to the City of Calgary Landfill on Oct. 16.
In math we are reviewing 'place value'. We have only looked at 2 and 3 digit numbers but in grade 4 we will be going up to 100 000. Please ask your child to review concepts by logging onto 'Google Classroom' each week.
Our soccer residency continues. Students have enjoyed the beautiful weather and the chance to learn from soccer coaches.
