 Dear Parents: Here is a snapshot of this week's learning.  Math We are continuing our work on multiplication facts up to 12 x 12. To support your child’s learning, please practice these facts at home along with their corresponding division facts. Building speed and accuracy with these facts will help your child feel more confident in solving math problems. Social Studies In Social Studies, we have been learning about the Voyageurs and the challenging work they undertook during the fur trade in Canada. The students are gaining a deeper understanding of this important part of our history and the role it played in shaping our country. Science This week, we explored galaxies in a creative way by painting them on canvas.  Dear Parents: This is a snapshot of our third week in January.  Mathematics This month, we’re diving into multiplication! We’re starting with the concept of repeated addition to help students understand the foundation of multiplication. Our ultimate goal is for students to memorize their multiplication tables up to 12x12. Daily practice at home with flashcards or apps can help reinforce these skills. Let’s work together to build strong math confidence! Social Studies In Social Studies, we’re continuing our exploration of Alberta’s rich history. Currently, we’re studying the Fur Trade and learning about the significant role of the beaver in this era. This unit is helping students connect with the historical roots of our province and understand how natural resources shaped early settlements.  Dear Parents  We have had a remarkable week filled with creativity and learning! Here are some of the highlights: Art : Students painted beautiful amaryllis and learned about tints and shades. Math:    We also started exploring 3D shapes and discussing the attributes of faces, edges, and vertices. Social Studies : We discovered fascinating facts about how the First Nations hunted buffalo, which sparked thoughtful discussions among the students. Physical Education : The students enjoyed a game of handball, showcasing their teamwork and sportsmanship.
